Overview
JP+ Engines & Wagons features a wide variety of Japanese locomotives and rolling stock. It focuses exclusively on locomotive-hauled trains, as multiple units are featured in other JP+ components.
JP+ Engines begins in 1872, at the dawn of railways in Japan. This gives it the earliest possible starting date out of all JP+ components.
All vehicles in JP+ Engines use narrow-gauge railtypes if available. This is because the vast majority of Japan’s rail network is narrow-gauge, with the exception of Shinkansen and some private passenger railways, which are featured in other JP+ components.
JP+ Engines re-uses many graphics from JapanSet, often with improvements and modifications. Due to the variety of different artists, sprites may not always be consistent but work is slowly progressing to improve them.
